These products (buy two, one for each hand) make easy work opening even large and hard to grip jars. I had something similar before having a new kitchen and couldn't find them after that. I soon realised I'd need to replace them. There are many available but these are nicely shaped to fit the jar and the hand and they work great.

I stand my jars on a non slip silicon mat and use this jar opener, it works a treat. Was unsure about buying it as it was so cheap however, I'm glad I purchased it, When it wears out I will buy another one.
