No comparison between this chair and the cheap one we were using. If you are going to need one every day for long-term care it's worth it to spend the extra dollars and get the extra features: it's well made with sturdy construction, rolls easily on hard or soft surfaces, all wheels can be locked in place, arms can be moved up and out of the way for easier transfers, the footrests are removable, the split front seat is easier for male use, bucket slides out of the way for use over a toilet.
