This reacher works well for reaching items on the floor when you are unable to bend over to get them. I have been able to retrieve most items such as paper, mail, dropped silverware. I have even been able to fetch a shoe with it. It has been a big help in my recovery from foot surgery.

I had back surgery and the physical therapist suggested getting a tool like this because I was not to bend, lift, twist, push or pull for six weeks. This tool came in handy picking up my dog's toys from the floor so I wouldn't trip on them. I also found other needs for this as well. Tool works great and I would recommend purchasing one.

It's good for light items. Magnetic end is very useful. Shorter versions are carried by local Veterans Medical Center to issue to disabled veterans. For heavy duty chores I recommend the blue ones sold at Lowe's Home Improvement stores.
