Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only clown in the country with a pacemaker — plus partial deafness, balance problems and a shunt in the brain.

I have lived with disability since early childhood, and found a way to do what I love for work.

Luke McCallum was only 16 when he decided to join the Royal Australian Navy.

Born and raised in Broken Hill, Mr McCallum applied to be an electronics technician with the navy and had the paperwork filled out before his birthday.

New patient transfer service launched to fly patients to capital cities as medical services in country dry up

Every year Frankie McKenzie and his parents drive around 4,000 kilometres from the country town of Lake Grace in the state's south to Perth for medical treatment.

The eight-year-old with level two spastic diplegia cerebral palsy requires regular botox injections to manage his condition, as well as a suite of specialist appointments only available in the city.

Irish actor Colin Farrell has launched a foundation for people with intellectual disabilities and their families in honour of his son James who has Angelman syndrome. 

Farrell, best known for roles in films including Banshees of Inisherin and In Bruges, timed the launch of his foundation with an interview with People magazine about James.
