Sarah Richards is an aspiring journalist and disability advocate. She was diagnosed at birth with a rare genetic condition, osteogenesis imperfect, also known as brittle bones. Sarah has broken over 30 bones and has required over 13 surgeries. She is also a full-time university student studying a dual degree in journalism and communication.
Casuarina Grove is the first purpose-built village for people with intellectual disabilities and complex needs associated with ageing. Every year, an Art Exhibition is held displaying the amazing work of residents. Each resident produced paintings on canvas, colouring-in and stellar photography.
Angela Braido only tried basketball for the first time four years ago. Now she’s a gold medallist, having triumphed as part of the Australian women’s team competing at last year’s Special Olympics held in Abu Dhabi during March 2019.
For as long as she can remember, Rosie Boyland has loved sport. Now she’s making her mark on the rugby field and the national athletics stage and hopes to be wearing the green and gold before too much longer.
